Cool New Pics

A few days ago, Mary showed me this cool app that I could download to my phone. It's called Retro Camera, and it lets you choose from five cameras, each of which adds its own special effect to the picture. Here are a few of my favorites:

Soon after Canon was born, Nonna and Poppa brought a bag full of Barry's clothes to us. He's worn a few things, especially the itty-bitty articles, but for some reason tonight, I went back through some of the clothes and found some of Barry's old pajamas that Nonna made. They're still a little big for him, but he really liked them (as did Barry and I).

New Ways to Show Distress

The other day, after picking Canon up from school, I got a phone call that I really had to take. It probably only lasted about five minutes, but apparently Canon was not happy about it. While I talked, he "cleaned out" the tupperware cabinet. I didn't think much of it because he loves playing in that cabinet. It wasn't until I got off the phone that I realized he wasn't playing. Once the cabinet was completely bare and Canon climbed in, I could see how mad he was at me for ignoring him. I spent the next half hour or so trying to convince him that I really was ready to spend time with him. My high maintenance son, the Drama Queen!

Daddy Cuts Again

What better way to ring in the new year than with a new haircut. I gave up fighting over this whole hair thing several weeks ago. It's hard to argue with a bald man who has a passion to live vicariously through his son's blonde mane. To his credit, he does typically agree with me when I say that Canon at least needs a haircut. He just insists on choosing the style and, so far, actually doing the cutting himself.
We have found that the best way to keep Canon calm is to give him an iPhone and let him hunt through his favorite apps. On this particular day, he found the camera on my phone and began to take the same picture over and over. Here are a few pieces of his art work.

In the end, I reserve the right to tease Barry about how much I hate the cut. The only rule is that I am not allowed to make any changes to his masterpiece. I can't wait until the day when he will sit calmly in a chair to let a professional take over this job. This cut, as you can see below, was particularly uneven and horrid, and all baby-ish-ness that Canon used to have is now officially gone. But he's still the cutest kid I've ever seen!
